Reasons parents and students choose IB program

What is IB program?

The IB Program is one of the top three academic programs in the world. With the advantage of comprehensive young education and highly appreciated by prestigious universities, the IB program is increasingly "hot" in Vietnam.

Started by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Switzerland in 1968, the IB (International Baccalaureate) program is now widely taught in more than 170 countries and is in the top 3 program selected by international schools.

The goal of the IB program is to develop a generation of global citizens who have the qualities to succeed in a constantly changing world. Through academic programs and extra-curricular activities, IB students can cultivate 10 core attributes to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.

IB includes 3 programs as Primary Years Program (PYP) for students from 3 years old to 5th grade; Middle Years Program (MYP) for students in years 6 to 10; and Diploma Program (DP) for students in years 11 to12.

Choosing an IB school for children

Because IB is a comprehensive educational program that provides the best preparation for students to enter prestigious universities, more and more Vietnamese parents want their children to attend this program. Many private schools are also looking to convert to teaching IB programs. However, in order to implement the IB program, schools need to meet strict standards for the quality of teachers and facilities.Vietnam currently has 13 schools recognized by the IBO organization, so parents can refer to many different schools to choose from.

Among them, International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP) is currently a candidate school to teach IB PYP, which will help children develop the attributes of IB learners. Thereby, they will develop comprehensively and become excellent global citizens.
